So a picture is making its rounds posted by the Washington Post. It shows the Dallas Cowboys owner (Jerry Jones) being a part of a group of people stopping black students from entering a high school in Arkansas during segregation in the mid-’50s. A picture is worth a thousand words. Crazy to think that, as a nation, we even had to pass a civil rights act. That act is only 58 years old. That act was also not welcomed with open arms.
That said, we really need to figure out who we want to be as a society. The point of me writing this is to ask can humans change?
In my opinion, I think humans can change. We have to believe that humans can change to have a functioning society. Why? Not to get dark, but if we believe humans can not change, we give no option to people that mess up. They might as well off themselves. Nothing is scarier than a person with nothing to lose.
Our whole civilization since the death of Christ has been based on the ability to change. Repenting for our sins and all that shit, right? What’s funny to me is this loser mentality of fake “winning.” I have no time for people that think like this. WTF is fake winning? It’s when you get into an argument strictly to “win.” Truth is the real “winner” is the person who changes their mind on a topic because they have grown. That is how I view things.
Today all we see are these gotcha posts, digging up old shit to make people look bad. It’s honestly pathetic. I firmly believe in 2nd, 3rd, hell, even 4th chances. Why? Because I know deep down we’re ALL flawed. I also know deep down we ALL want to be better. Attacking people for past mistakes is not the way to move forward. There’re exceptions. I have no tolerance for child molesters, killers, and other horrible crimes where you directly harm someone physically. But almost everything else is forgivable or redeemable… in my opinion.
The thing that has always bothered me the most as a former peace officer was our justice system, and it resembles today’s culture war. If an 18-year-old jacks a car, goes to jail and does his time, why does he have a record? It’s like, bro, we either trust him to be back in our society, or we don’t. We either trust that Jerry Jones is not a racist, or we don’t. We can’t keep flip-flopping. If we don’t trust someone to be released from jail, then lock them up forever because giving them a “record” almost ensures they’ll be back in jail. We either forgive mistakes humans make in life, or we don’t. But we need to decide who we want to be as a society. If we choose to forgive, we must stop digging up the past.
I don’t care for Jerry Jones. I’m a raider fan, lol. But to wrap up that picture, everyone should watch the JGE episode 1419 with Daryl Davis. People can change, racist too, and we should celebrate people for realizing their mistakes, not demonize them.
My biggest problem with the far left and right is they both don’t really care for humans. They are both just lost souls attaching themselves to ideologies because they can’t achieve anything else in life. They are both losers and should be viewed so as such. Winners help people become better and are there for people when they are down. Losers kick people when they are down. Both the left and right extremes have no path for acceptance and tolerance. They are both the scums of the earth and just nasty, unpleasant people to be around. We need to stop giving them attention. Ironically I am writing this, lol. But I am writing this to point out how crazy we have become; we need to revive logic.
Anyways thanks for reading bitches. Shout out to the 2 people reading this yall real ones, lol.
